The universe began as a dark, lifeless, empty void. Over a period of billions of centuries the void began to take on an essence, a life force, within itself. As the life force grew it began to fill the void and take on two separate forms, eventually becoming self-aware. These entities became the universe's Supreme Beings, Faith and Morpheus, the Creators of All Things. These beings wanted to fill the void with its creations and thus began to create planets, suns, life, etc. The Supreme Beings then hurled forth its creations across the vast regions of the universe. Two planets collided during their journey and caused a tremendous explosion, which resulted in a temporary rift in time and space. Excess energy that poured through the rift was absorbed by the world Therodon and is the source of all magic there. The Supreme Beings then created powerful supernatural creatures to take care of this new world and later they came to be known as the Gods of Therodon. The magic is essential to the survival of the Gods and thus they are able to survive only so long as they stay close to the planet. The Gods created the various races, creatures, animals, plants, etc., to spread their influence over the world, yet one God sought to gain control over Therodon's magic and thereby dominating the other Gods and the world.
And on this new world, the Gods went about the creation of Therodon. The deity known as Sune, Goddess of Life, created the first races: elves, dwarves, and man. Yet these creations missed something vital. Together Eleri, Sune and Taws created Oriana, the Goddess of Creation. Oriana's violet, gold fleck eyes moved over her mothers and father and then over the creatures that laid upon the ground.
She stepped forward and knelt down beside Sune's creation and touched each of the creatures faces, "And upon these," and she looked up to her parents and in return they nodded to her. "Our children, I bestow upon you the power of Creation." And with the creation of the races and the life they now breathed, the Goddess of Good and Judgement, Keryntha, raised her hand and spoke: "And upon these, our children, I bestow upon you the power of Good and Judgement." And as these creations lay on the ground, Eleri, Goddess of Order spoke forth: "To survive life, one must know Order. And I place upon these, our children, the power of Order."
But for all of these there is an opposite. Dominic, God of Death, stepped forward: "For each new life, one life must be taken." Taws, God of Chaos, stepped forward as well: "How would one know Order without Chaos?" And Shaitan, God of Evil, looked upon the creations on the ground and he to stepped forward and spoke: "How can one see the light of Good without being engulfed in the deepest darkness?" Once more Shaitan spoke up, "Yet, these creations are not complete."
The Gods turned their gaze towards Shaitan and Keryntha, the sister of Shaitan spoke, "And what are the children missing now my brother?"
"We are placing these children, as you so name them, into a world in which they must learn to endure. And without the ability to protect themselves or their family " Shaitan's words trailed off as Taws spoke.
"And to protect themselves they must know the way in so doing. Neither of us have that knowledge to teach them, but together, the knowledge could be made available."
Together, Dominic, Shaitan and Keryntha created Reann, the God of Destruction (or War). And Reann opened his eyes to the new world he was created upon and his blue eyes flicked over his fathers and mother and they nodded. Reann look towards his children and he rubbed his finely trimmed beard and spoke forth: "The time shall arises when one must know how to protect thy own self and family."
And the three colors of power weave about Reann's hands and moved over the races instilling in them the knowledge of War. As Reann bestowed his knowledge upon the children, the other Gods watching, neither of the Gods noticed the look upon Shaitan's face, a look of venomous hatred in his eyes and a smile of triumph.
When the land was new, the Gods lived in peace and harmony. The races were as it should be, as one people. The people of Therodon loved the Gods, and the Gods lived with them and cherished them. And the people prospered in their care. Yet there was one who wanted not to be seen as a God over the people, but as a friend. And that was Eleri's brother Taws. He lived with the people and kept away from his siblings. Then one day a child approached him. Taws accepted the child as his disciple, his own son and called him Gandore. Gandore learned the secret of the will and became a Chaotic Mage. In the years that followed, others also sought out the solitary God. They joined in brotherhood and sisterhood to learn at the feet of Taws and time could not touch them.
And then it happened that one day Taws took up a stone in the shape of a globe, no larger than the heart of a child, and he turned the stone in his hand until it becoming a living soul. The power of the living jewel, which was later called the Orb of Chaos, was very great, and Taws worked wonders on it. And so came about the merging of the three Powers: Essence, Channeling and Mentalism. And with this merge came about the Arcane Power known only by Taws and his followers.
Sune, Goddess of Life, and Oriana, Goddess of Creation, were cherished by many of the same people. And together, they taught their people about Healing. Then one day, the Goddesses where approached by a child. And they accepted the child as their student and their daughter. Together, Sune and Oriana named their daughter Alamar. And with Oriana's help, Sune taught Alamar the way of growing things. Many others sought out the Goddesses for guidance and the Goddesses granted them this and more.
Sune's brother, Dominic was cherished by his people. And he too desired not to be a God over them. Those who sought him out, felt in their hearts that death, not by natural means, would be upon their peaceful land tenfold. And these people knew Dominic offered more to his people than Death. And a child approached Dominic, and Dominic accepted the child as his student and son and named him Dewan. Dewan learned the ways of fighting. And many others followed Dewan's ways. And Dominic accepted all. He taught many the ways of protecting others and others the means of control over their minds and bodies. And together they lived, learning from their God.
Eleri was cherished as well. Many of her people were taught the ways of Order. And a child approached Eleri and she accepted the child as her student and daughter and named her Marra. Others were taught the ways of magic. And her words to them, "For one to use, one must learn Order." And they all came together and learned that and more from their Goddess.
Keryntha was sought after by many as well and a child approached her bearing a soul of goodness that touched Keryntha. She accepted this child as her student and daughter, naming her Allya. And she taught her student the meaning of Good and Judgement and others began to seek out the Goddess as well.
And then there was Shaitan and his people he called Dracorians. They burned sacrifices before him calling him Lord of Lords, and Shaitan found the smell of sacrifices and the words of adoration grand. The day came however, when he heard of the Orb of Chaos, and from that moment he knew no peace. For now he sought that which was rare, the magick of Arcane.
Finally in a dissembled guise, he went to Taws. "My brother, it is not fitting that thou shouldst absent thyself from our company and council. Put aside that jewel which hath seduced thy mind from our fellowship."
Taws looked into his brother's soul and rebuked him. "Why dost thou seek lordship and dominion Shaitan? Is not Dracor enough for thee? Do not in thy pride seek to possess the Orb, lest it slay thee."
